When practicing at a driving range, you need a friend as companion. Why needed?
A companion here is not any friend, but a companion who understands you and golf inside out. Further, this companion monitors you on every aspect of playing in the golf course. Your companion can criticize you on your style, swing, and attitude towards the play.
Imagine that you are on the course alone without the guidance of a companion, you will end up digging up your ball from one hole to another, or get mocked at, even mocking at your caddy instead.
So, how long will you keep your companion intact with you on the course? Well, it depends on how ’strong’ you are in facing the reality of a golf course. Prior to the shotgun, please ask: Am I ready to take up any challenge and obstacle ahead? If your answer is obvious, then you are ready to strike on your own. All in all, the presence of a real companion functions not only as a mentor but also motivator.
Whether you realize or not, he/she motivates you with his/her comment, gestures, and even a reward by treating you lunch or dinner after a successful play. A companion in need is a companion in deed.
